Background:
Dr. Zahra Sharifi-Heris is a devoted healthcare researcher with expertise in maternity, pediatrics, and pregnancy-induced complications, particularly within underserved populations. Armed with a Ph.D. in Nursing Science and certified as a Nurse-Midwife, her overarching goal is to harness various resources, including cutting-edge technology, to bridge health disparities related to common pregnancy complications, all while respecting the nuances of cultural considerations.
Dr. Sharifi-Heris firmly believes that the creation of knowledge should harmonize with a holistic approach to patient care, preserving the essence of personalized care while judiciously incorporating technological advancements. During her Ph.D. program, she delved into the feasibility of employing smart health tracking platforms among Hispanic pregnant women, yielding invaluable insights that pave the way for her pursuit of this noble mission.
Now, as a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA, she continues her journey to enhance healthcare by deepening her understanding of the implementational and computational dimensions of healthcare delivery in pregnant population.
