Deadline extended for Calling all UCLA faculty, staff, trainees, patients, caregivers, volunteers and UCLA students! The 2021 UCLA Health Innovation Challenge is continuing to accept applications for the Health Equity and Greatest Idea categories, due by Mar. 3, 2021. Winners will be awarded prizes of up to $50,000. This year, there are three submission tracks:
Health Equity(now due Mar 3) – This is a new category that gives applicants a chance to tackle challenges related to Health Equity. Vulnerable populations may include people who are economically disadvantaged, racial and ethnic minorities, the underinsured or uninsured, the elderly, the unsheltered, those with chronic health conditions, those who are differently abled, those in need of mental health services, those in rural areas with limited access to care and more.
Medical Technology/Digital Health (due Jan 3) – Interdisciplinary teams have the opportunity to submit an early-stage idea, design or prototype that solves a clinical or patient care need.
Greatest Idea/Sustainability and Wellness (now due Mar 3) – Applicants will address COVID-19 Reduction or Employee Wellness ideas that focus on processes and practices to reduce clinical care provider burnout, improve practice efficiency and/or establish a culture of support and collaboration.
