A major goal of the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) leadership is to facilitate the efforts of UCLA’s researchers to mount a strategic, collaborative response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Systematically and responsibly leveraging the expertise, resources, and data of the UCLA Health, DGSOM, and broader UCLA research communities will accelerate the research necessary to better understand, treat, and prevent COVID-19 and alleviate human suffering.

DGSOM is pleased to announce the latest development in their COVID-19 research mobilization efforts: A universal intake process for registering COVID-19 research projects and requesting COVID-19 research funding and resources. This streamlined process will help the recently established COVID-19 Oversight and Governance Committees better monitor systemwide activities and allocate resources to maximize benefits to human health.

The Universal Intake three-step process includes registering a project, confirming and saving the registration number and requesting resources.

Committees will review and prioritize requests, assessing projects based on operational feasibility as well as scientific excellence. Please email the COVID-19 DGSOM communications team with suggestions or questions regarding the universal intake process.

DGSOM is continually inspired by the creativity, ingenuity and collaborative nature of our research community. Researchers' efforts will help uncover innovative insights and solutions to the most pressing challenge facing humanity.
