Community Engagement and Research Program (CERP)


The COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND RESEARCH PROGRAM (CERP) partners with community members, organizations, service providers, policymakers, academia, government, local health systems (Departments of Health Services, Mental Health, and Public Health) and researchers to identify and research public health priorities towards the goal of improving health equity in Los Angeles County.

What We Do:

  • Connect: Identify stakeholders and foster interactions between community-academic partners who share an interest in improving public health in LA County and beyond
  • Create: Develop supportive and equitable research environments between community and research partners that allow for inclusion, capacity building, and mutual benefit
  • Advance: Promote the use of local health and social data by community stakeholders
  • Engage: Community outreach, relationship building, symposia, capacity building, and partnership training
  • Act: Focus on productive, impactful, and actionable outcomes to achieve social change
