Are you ready for NIH’s biosketch changes?
NIH recently issued Notice NOT-OD-24-163 in which they detailed upcoming changes to the NIH Biosketch. For NIH applications on or before May 25, 2025, NIH will require three significant changes required for all Key Personnel including:
- Replacing the NIH Biosketch Format with the Biosketch Common Form, more familiarly used on NSF applications.
- Find more information on this format.
- Requiring the use of SciENcv to complete the Common Form (including a required ORCID ID)
- A new document – the NIH Biosketch Supplement, which will be used to collect the following components not required on the Common Form:
- Personal Statement
- Contribution to Science
- Honors
Rules 1 and 2 will also apply to the Other Support page. NIH has not issued instructions for completing the Common Forms and Supplement but will post them online closer to the implementation date. Updated information will be available on the UCLA CTSI website once this announcement has been made.
