RCMAR CHIME Methods Seminar
Seminar Description: Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) is the practice of scientific investigation with integrity and involves applying ethical principles and professional norms to all phases of research, from design to publication. NIA RCMAR requires researchers to complete RCR training to maintain public trust and prevent misconduct.
Speaker Bio: Dr. Homero del Pino (CHIME 2015) is professor of psychiatry at Charles Drew University and also has an adjunct appointment at UCLA as well as research scientists at GLA VA. He is also Program Co-Director for the CHIME's Research Education Core. His primary research interests include the impact of family relationships on the health outcomes across the life span, substance use, and HIV risk. His RCMAR pilot led to an NIH-funded, randomized controlled trial called “Entre Herman@s,” to test the efficacy of engaging the siblings of Latino men who have sex with men in the development and dissemination of HIV PrEP-promotion messages. He was also the recipient of a K01 career development award to explore strategies for engaging the families of Latino MSM in HIV prevention efforts.
