Lundquist/Harbor-UCLA Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC)
The Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC) at Lundquist/Harbor-UCLA provides support and resources for studies on human research participants. The CTRC is a high-functioning collaborative research environment enabled with state-of-the-art video conferencing to facilitate participation of remote participants across the proposed project. CTRC nurses and dietitians within the Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC) integrates high-quality patient care, patient-oriented research, education, expertise in protocol implementation, data collection as well as providing support for research subjects participation in clinical trials. All CTRC staff are certified in the conduct of clinical trials, good clinical practice, the protection of human subjects, and HIPAA regulations to assure compliance with regulatory requirements. They are also trained to ensure research participants are fully informed about the details of their research protocol visits, protection of private medical health information, and the Research Subject’s Bill of Rights.
The UCLA-CTSI at Lundquist/Harbor-UCLA provides consultation and support in biostatistics, study design, data management, and biomedical informatics, as well as community engagement and research. In addition, the CTSI supports a large number of Translational Research Cores. All protocols requesting use of CTSI resources are independently reviewed for scientific merit, research participant safety, valid justification for resource utilization by the CTSI Scientific Advisory Committee, the Human Subjects Committee or the Institution Animal Use and Care Committee as appropriate, and the Research Committee.
