ARPAH

ARPA-H (Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health) recently released application and submission information for a new funding opportunity. ARPA-H is dedicated to innovative and transformative research projects that are intended to lead to breakthroughs in the healthcare system. Projects can range from the molecular to the societal and anything in between, as long as the proposed concept is novel, unique, and meant to render near to immediate meaningful change in patients’ lives.

A proposed project should fall into one of the four ARPA-H focus areas:

  • Health Science Futures: For projects that seek to develop the innovative tools, technologies, and platforms that can be applied to a broad range of diseases, including but not limited to: cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s Disease, infectious diseases, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Scalable Solutions: For projects that seek to improve access and affordability and address health ecosystem challenges at a scale that reaches every citizen regardless of geography or resources.
  • Proactive Health: For projects that aim to improve personal health and wellness to reduce the likelihood that people require medical intervention or minimize the time that they remain in acute care through accelerated recovery and regeneration capabilities.
  • Resilient Systems: For projects that aim to create capabilities, develop mechanisms, and accelerate system integrations to enhance stability in the face of disruptive events such as pandemics, social disruption, climate change, molecular disturbances, and economic instability.

Please review the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for more detail on the focus areas and application requirements. ARPA-H abstracts are due any time before March 23, 2024.
