The Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) Initiative has announced the spring semester of the NIH Big Data to Knowledge program, the BD2K Guide to the Fundamentals of Data Science. The online webinar series, which provides an introductory overview on the data science underlying modern biomedical research and covers a range of topics in data science, is a collaboration between the Training Coordinating Center (TCC), the NIH Office of the Associate Director for Data Science, and BD2K Centers Coordination Center (BD2KCCC).

These online lectures will be held weekly and be given by experts from across the country. Presentations will cover "big data" topics such as the basics of data management, representation, computation, statistical inference and data modeling. All video presentations from the seminar series will be streamed for live viewing as well as posted online for future viewing.

The series runs through May 2017 and meets every Friday at 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time / 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. No registration is required. To join the lecture, click here. Seminars will also be archived on BD2K's YouTube channel.
