The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences' (NCATS) June newsletter featured the study, conducted by the UCLA CTSI and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Researchers found that offering screenings to people with diabetes in a primary care setting dramatically reduced the amount of time people needed to wait for follow-up eye exams and increased the number of people who underwent screenings. The research appeared in JAMA Internal Medicine.
