About
Background:
Dr. An Nguyen (pronounced “on”, as in turn on the coffee machine) is an occupational therapist and clinician scientist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She is Board Certified in Gerontology by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Born and raised in Seattle, Dr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Washington, graduating summa cum laude. She completed her Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis with a full-tuition merit scholarship as an Ann W. and Spencer T. Olin Fellow. Her graduate research focused on occupational therapist-led home modification interventions for preventing falls and promoting functional independence among community-dwelling older adults. With support from the UCLA CTSI TL1 postdoctoral fellowship, she is completing her PhD dissertation research that focuses on implementing transitional care interventions to improve hospital-to-home transitions for older adults with cognitive impairments, including Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
