Yannan Lin, PhD, MPH

Background:
Dr. Yannan Lin is a postdoctoral scholar in the Medical & Imaging Informatics Group at UCLA. She received her Bachelor of Medicine in Clinical Medicine from Qingdao University, followed by an MPH in Epidemiology from the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA and a PhD in Bioengineering from the Samueli School of Engineering at UCLA. She is the 2024–25 recipient of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) Fellowship Award. Her JCCC project focuses on examining psychosocial factors associated with adherence to lung cancer screening. Currently a CTSI TL1 postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Lin is committed to applying translational research, advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and implementation science to (1) reduce health disparities in lung cancer screening uptake and adherence and (2) improve breast cancer screening workflows. Dr. Lin plans to become an independent researcher at the intersection of health services research and AI following her postdoctoral training. Her career goal is to improve patient experience and outcomes through the use of cutting-edge informatics technologies.
