UCLA CTSI hosts 6th Southern California Dissemination, Implementation, and Improvement (DII) Science Symposium
The symposium brought together regional leaders to explore strategies for translating research into real-world health improvements

The UCLA CTSI Community Engagement and Research Program (CERP) and Population Health Program hosted the 6th Southern California Regional Dissemination, Implementation, and Improvement (DII) Science Symposium on September 4 at The California Endowment in Downtown Los Angeles. This event was held in collaboration with the CTSAs from USC, UCSD, and UCI, as well as UC Riverside, Southern California Kaiser Permanente, Altamed, and the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Administration. The event featured a keynote presentation on learning health systems from Dr. Peter Margolis (Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center) followed by a panel discussion that included Dr. Michael Kanter (Kaiser Permanente), Dr. Tony Kuo (LA County Department of Public Health), Dr. Arleen Brown (UCLA), Dr. Dong Chang (LA County Department of Health Services) and moderator Dr. Brian Mittman (Kaiser Permanente).
The event also featured guided poster tours, concurrent sessions on DII methods, and strategy sessions. Outstanding Abstract Achievement Awards were awarded to the following abstracts:

DII science focuses on bridging the gap between research and practice by promoting the translation of evidence-based interventions into real-world settings. It looks at how proven interventions can be adopted, adapted, and sustained in real-world environments to improve health outcomes and promote equity across diverse communities.
