In its June newsletter, the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) highlighted the work of Dr. Juli Feigon and collaborators, who recently produced the clearest-ever image of telomerase, an enzyme involved in cancer and aging. Her research, which could inform development of anti-cancer and anti-aging therapies, was enabled by a voucher for core services from the UCLA CTSI, the newsletter noted.
The UCLA CTSI's Center for Translational Technologies competitively awards vouchers of up to $10,000 to defray the cost of core services. Vouchers can be used at cores located at any of the CTSI's partner sites. For information about the voucher award program, please go to the funding page.
