Mentor Biosketches
Alert
The following instructions align with NIH requirements, as of March 18, 2025.
General Biosketch Guidelines
Access full instructions for baseline NIH biosketch requirements, including new Common Form requirements effective January 25, 2026.
Training Grant Guidelines
Participating faculty, mentors, and preceptors are terms that refer to personnel on training grants available to provide training to trainees. Their training and research experience informs a significant amount of the application, particularly within the Data Tables, and thus should be carefully considered. Biosketches are required for each of these individuals, and the mentor’s experience with the following key elements should be highlighted in the Personal Statement:
- Training and mentoring
- Promoting a supportive scientific environment
- Providing instruction in scientific rigor
- Aiding trainees in transitioning into research careers
- A mentoring philosophy that ensures trainees receive tailored mentorship
Note: All mentor biosketches must be combined into a single PDF (excluding PD/PI).
Page Limit: 5 pages maximum per biosketch
