The Integrating Special Populations Program (ISP) has established several initiatives to understand the health needs of special populations and drive high-priority research.

Value-Based Care Research Consortium

The Value-Based Care Research Consortium (VBCRC) facilitates collaborative interaction among diverse stakeholders to improve health care value and associated meaningful patient-centered outcomes. Serving as an incubator for innovation, the Consortium generates scientifically grounded solutions to improve health care value, influence policies across the nation, and train the next generation of health care scientists and leaders.

CTSI ISP supported the kick-off symposium in 2018. View the video highlights and complete event details.

Latinx Health Initiative

The overarching goals of the Latinx Health Initiative are to highlight collaborative research efforts designed to improve the health status of Latinos in greater Los Angeles and seek collective approaches to formulate future study/grants/projects. Our intended audience includes scientists who want to collaborate in Latinx-focused research to conduct scientifically rigorous studies and community leadership and policymakers who want to collaborate with scientists to best-tailor future study.

This is a CTSI-wide group was developed by ISP to improve health via the portal, an electronic health record platform  linking  patients  with their health  systems. Portal projects include testing the impact of portal reminders for influenza vaccination, engaging bilingual Latinx patients through the portal, and improving pediatric asthma care through the portal.
