The School of Education and Information Studies’ Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (OJEDI) shares Ed&IS’ commitment to combat inequities and racism. In order to fulfill the purpose and live its values, the OJEDI aims to make their commitment to justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion evident in their mission, vision, organizational structures, policies, and practices. Members of the OJEDI are accountable to each other and transparent in pursuit of equity. The OJEDI will honor different and unique identities and nurture an accessible, welcoming, and respectful environment for all members in the Ed&IS community. OJEDI is focused on Racial Justice, Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, fighting Anti-Blackness and Racism, Intersectionality, Accountability, and a focus on Actions. As a land grant institution, Ed&IS acknowledges the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar (Los Angeles basin, So. Channel Islands).
