Division of Graduate Education’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Admissions (DIA)
As a UC, UCLA’s mission is to serve the people of California. Thus, the DIA strives to ensure graduate student demographics more closely reflect the demographics of the state and nation. DIA offers training in holistic admissions practices and heartily support departments seeking to make their admissions processes more inclusive. Recruitment and admission practices embody the commitment to diversity reflected in the UC Guidelines For Addressing Race and Gender Equity in Academic Programs in Compliance with Proposition 209 and UC Regents’ Policy 4400 (the “Diversity Statement”).
The diversity of UCLA’s scholarly community ensures its status as one of the world’s top universities, and UCLA is committed to increasing diversity in graduate education. UCLA celebrates racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, sexual, gender, class, ability, and political differences, and know that we achieve more together than we do alone. The Division of Graduate Education’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Admissions (DIA) helps answer any and all admissions questions and supports campus efforts to promote graduate diversity and inclusion.
