Organization of African-American Students Excelling in STEM (OASES)
The purpose of OASES is to provide academic, professional and personal support and guidance to African-American students in the STEM fields. OASES goals are to promote greater retention rates, increase student diversity, and maximize the opportunities and achievement potential of students at UCLA and beyond. OCDS’s aim is to achieve these goals through building a community amongst students, faculty and alumni through facilitating social and professional events. The world is larger than one may realize and UCLA is a big place. OASES members want to make it smaller through building a community, and providing a means for students to take advantage of this environment and moment in time.
